Endocannabinoid LTD in Accumbal D1 Neurons Mediates Reward-Seeking Behavior

2020

Summary The nucleus accumbens (NAc) plays a key role in drug-related behavior and natural reward learning. Synaptic plasticity in dopamine D1 and D2 receptor medium spiny neurons (MSNs) of the NAc and the endogenous cannabinoid (eCB) system have been implicated in reward seeking. However, the precise molecular and physiological basis of reward-seeking behavior remains unknown. We found that the specific deletion of metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR5) in D1-expressing MSNs (D1miRmGluR5 mice) abolishes eCB-mediated long-term depression (LTD) and prevents the expression of drug (cocaine and ethanol), natural reward (saccharin), and brain-stimulation-seeking behavior. In vivo enhancement…

Hypericum perforatum L. prevents the acquisition of and promotes resilience against stress-induced reinstatement of the conditioned place preference …

2021

Abstract Cocaine use disorder is a serious problem worldwide, and there are no approved medications for its treatment. A novel approach to the treatment of drug addiction is the use of natural products, and, in this context, preclinical evidence suggests that Hypericum perforatum L. (Hypericum) is effective against alcohol and other substance use disorders. We hypothesised that Hypericum could also be useful as a treatment for cocaine use disorder, and so we set out to test its effectiveness in a mice model of cocaine addiction. In the first experiment we evaluated its effects on the acquisition of cocaine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP). Adult male mice were conditioned with coc…

Settore IUS/07 - Diritto Del LavoroWith judgement no. 16253/2020 theSupremeCourt affirmed that the absence of causal linkbetween the termination of a contract and the dismissal of the worker integrates a hypothesis of manifest nonexistence of the fact at the basis of the dismissal with consequent applicability of the reinstatement protection afforded by art. 18 paragraph 5 of law no. 300/1970 and therefore does not fall within the other cases in which the judge declares the relationship terminated by granting an indemnity protection from twelve to twenty-four months salary.

Individual vulnerability to stress is associated with increased demand for intravenous heroin self-administration in rats

2019

AbstractOpioid use is a widespread epidemic, and traumatic stress exposure is a critical risk factor in opioid use and relapse. There is a significant gap in our understanding of how stress contributes to heroin use, and there are limited studies investigating individual differences underlying stress reactivity and subsequent stress-induced heroin self-administration. We hypothesized that greater individual vulnerability to stress would predict higher demand for heroin self-administration in a within-subjects rodent model of stress and heroin use comorbidity. Male rats were exposed to inescapable intermittent swim stress and individual biological (corticosterone) or behavioral (open field, …

HAGHÌA TRIÀDA (CRETA): REINTEGRAZIONE DELLA LACUNA COME PRESENZA DELL’ASSENZA

2015
